Universalia to Conduct Mid-Term Review of the MENA Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MENA MDTF)

THE MENA MDTF was created in 2012 to provide catalytic donor support to countries undergoing historic transition and reform. It is funded by Denmark, Finland, Norway, and the UK. Based out of the offices of the World Bank, the MDTF aims to become a key instrument of the regional strategy to promote peace and stability in the MENA region through economic and social inclusion. It supports activities relating to (i) renewing the social contract, (ii) resilience to shocks, (iii) reconstruction and recovery, and (iv) regional cooperation.

In conjunction with the MENA MDTF Project Management Unit, Universalia will conduct a midterm review of the trust-fund to assess its relevance and effectiveness. The Evaluation will reflect on the MDTF structure and portfolio, derive appropriate lessons from the 1st cycle of operations and their resulting impact, and validate the new orientation of the fund and its active portfolio.
