Universalia selected for two new mandates focusing on youths in Quebec

In January 2016, Universalia will begin planning and implementing the multi-year At Risk and Gang Affiliated Youth Service (SAJ-TGDRL) evaluation. This crime prevention program mobilizes influential community stakeholders through the Gang Reduction Program, in order to offer individual support to 12 to 24 years old youths who are at risk or have already been involved in street gangs in Laval. The evaluation portion is being financed by Public Safety Canada et will require annual reporting between 2016 and 2019. Mr. Emmanuel Trépanier will act as team leader. He will be supported by Dr. Natalie Kishchuk, a social psychology and applied research specialist with an expertise in data collection with young people.

Universalia will also have the opportunity to organize a three day training for one of its partner organizations, the International Bureau for Children's Rights (IBCR). This training, aimed at the IBCR staff, will focus on program evaluation, proposal development, evaluation management and quality monitoring and control. A needs assessment will be done in January 2016 and the training will take place at the end of February 2016. Mr. Emmanuel Trépanier will also lead this project, partially financed by Emploi Québec.
