Zachariah Su is a Consultant for Universalia’s Organization & Partnership practice where he carries out detailed document reviews, conducts data collection interviews, and analyzes survey data. He has worked on assignments for clients such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Mr. Su’s main areas of professional interest are labour migration, migration policy, human rights and labour rights. Over the past three years, he has conducted extensive research on migration policy and migrant workers’ rights in Canada and Singapore and has presented five papers on labour migration at conferences in Ontario and Quebec.
Mr. Su was born in Taiwan and raised in Singapore and has been living in Montreal since 2013. He has maintained an interest in the Eastern and Southeast Asian regions and was part of the Centre for the Advanced Study of Southeast Asia at McGill University from 2015 to 2018. He has volunteered for Equitas, the International Centre for Human Rights, and assisted in the facilitation of the 8th International Conference on Human Rights Education held in Montreal in 2017. Before coming to Universalia, Mr. Su worked for Voices-Voix, an advocacy network which focuses on freedom of expression, democracy and civil society in Canada. He is fluent in Mandarin, English and French.
