Aurélie Ieroncig is a Project Analyst for Universalia’s Environment, Security and Conflict Transformation Practice and it’s Francophonie Practice. In this role she has contributed to several mandates for United Nations (UN) agencies, international financial institutions, and global funds and partnerships including the Peacebuilding Fund (PBF), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), the International Development Research Center (IDRC), the World Food Program (WFP), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) as well as World Bank funds and facilities such as the State and Peacebuilding Fund (SPF), the Cooperation in International Waters in Africa (CIWA), and the Global Water Security & Sanitation Partnership (GWSP).

Ms. Ieroncig has over six years of experience during which she has completed over 40 mandates in a myriad of areas notably including state and peace building, climate change adaptation and mitigation, water and food security, natural resource management, and knowledge translation and southern-led knowledge brokering. Her experience spans globally, cutting across all regions, including in fragile and conflict affected regions, and has involved field work, particularly in Western Africa. Her methodological experience includes program evaluation, strategic planning and evaluations, economic impact assessments, business planning, governance and organizational optimization, and the development of monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) plans. She has undertaken numerous projects using utilization focused, participatory, gender-sensitive, inclusive, theory-based and mixed-method approaches and has a wealth of experience in research and evaluation design, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, data visualization and research communication.

Prior to joining Universalia, Ms. Ieroncig provided consultancy services across Atlantic Canada with Group ATN, where she supported organizations, governments, and Indigenous communities in strategic planning and economic development. Ms. Ieroncig also worked with the Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Division at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) on the development of the national climate change assessment, Canada in a Changing Climate: Advancing our Knowledge for Action.

Ms. Ieroncig holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability and a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from the University of Ottawa. Raised in the Ottawa region, she is fluent in both French and English.
